Description
Getting the “official diagnosis” for a vestibular disorder can be a long road because dizziness is often pushed to the side as a “normal part of aging.” Meanwhile, your patients are struggling with poor balance, trouble walking, unsteadiness and decreased QOL. In this targeted session, you’ll explore how and why your testing should be adjusted so that you can feel more at ease while working with older vestibular patients:
- Modified techniques for your most complex and challenging patients
- How to choose the best test for the patient in front of you
- A concise framework for determining peripheral vs central
- Simple modifications to breakthrough for patients with cognitive impairment
BPPV can sometimes get skipped over as a cause for referral from MDs…but living with dizziness and an increased falls risk for several months is often unnecessary! Help your patients get their lives back now. Filled with demonstrations for diagnosis and treatment techniques, this is a training you don’t want to miss if you work with older adults!
