PESI proudly presents, as a part of Blue Spirit Costa Rica’s world-renowned
Wisdom & Wellbeing Weeks

Your invitation to a week-long exploration of your nervous system with esteemed
Polyvagal Theory (PVT) expert Deb Dana among the natural beauty of Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast.

Join us & spend 8 days filled with skills-building and personal transformation –
PLUS earn up to 21.5 CE Hours!

The Pacific Ocean meets the jungle in a sanctuary of renewal at Blue Spirit. Sweeping hilltop views, open-air yoga spaces, nourishing organic meals, and the tranquility of nature all around. Days flow with ease from sunrise meditation to swims in the saltwater infinity pool. Walks on the pristine white sand beach to sunsets ablaze with color.

Every detail is designed to restore balance, awaken clarity, and immerse you in the spirit of pura vida.

A space could not be more well-designed for regulating your autonomic nervous system and discovering the methods needed for helping those you work with day in and day out to achieve the same sense of calm and safety.

Transition clients from chronic dysregulation and trauma-driven responses to enhanced emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.

The trauma client is often stuck in a dysregulated state.

Like us, they want to navigate the normal “shifting” we do in our daily life. Transitioning from one state to another…hyper to calm, irritated to relaxed, overwhelmed to feeling in control.

And because the things we feel and do begin not in our brains, but in our bodies, in the nervous system…

We need the tools and strategies to help clients transition from dysregulated states to a state of emotional balance and control. This includes understanding and leveraging the body's autonomic nervous system to facilitate this process effectively.

Within the mind, body, and spirit sanctuary that is Blue Spirit, Deb Dana, LCSW, foremost PVT authority and best-selling author, will unlock the transformative power of understanding how our nervous system influences our responses to stress and social interactions!

Working from the premise that the autonomic nervous system inherently longs to be in regulation and knows the way there, Deb will take you into the core of her work in a practical way.

Compassionately, and within a safe and relaxing environment, Deb will teach you how to partner with the autonomic nervous system, reset clients' nervous systems, and restore safety.

This immersive and interactive learning experience is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of your own nervous system and learn the fundamentals of polyvagal informed therapy.

Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of something bigger. All for one, all-inclusive price that includes education, meals, & accommodations.

Meet Your Retreat Instructor
Deb Dana
Deb Dana, LCSW, is a clinician, consultant, and author. Deb’s work shows how an understanding of Polyvagal Theory is applicable across the board to relationships, mental health, and trauma. She is well known for translating Polyvagal Theory into a language and application that is both clear and accessible and for pioneering Rhythm of Regulation® methodology, tools, techniques, and practices which continue to open the power of Polyvagal Theory to professionals and curious people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life.

Deb believes we all benefit when we have a basic understanding of the ways the nervous system works and learn how to become active operators of this essential system. Following this passion has led her to partner with groups and communities outside of the clinical arena - and bring the Polyvagal perspective to the ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary, experiences of daily living.

Deb’s clinical work published with W.W. Norton includes The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy: Engaging the Rhythm of Regulation, Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection: 50 Client Centered Practices, the Polyvagal Flip Chart, the Polyvagal Card Deck, and Polyvagal Practices: Anchoring the Self in Safety. She partners with Sounds True to bring her polyvagal perspective to a general audience through the audio program Befriending Your Nervous System: Looking Through the Lens of Polyvagal Theory and her print book Anchored: How to Befriend Your Nervous System Using Polyvagal Theory.

Deb can be contacted via her website www.rhythmofregulation.com.

Travel/FAQs

Air Arrangements

Airfare is not included in your package and will be an additional cost. There are two international airports in Costa Rica – Liberia International Airport (LIR) and San Jose International Airport (SJO). Blue Spirit Costa Rica recommends flying into Liberia International Airport. From the airport you can shuttle to Blue Spirit (recommended) or rent a car. All attendees are advised to purchase travel insurance that includes a cancellation for any reason option to protect your travel plans.

Learn more about the area where Blue Spirit is located here.

Shuttle Information

Airport shuttle is NOT included in your package price.

Please arrange for this directly with Blue Spirit.

Blue Spirit offers airport pick-up services for guests at Liberia International Airport (LIR), aligning with most major U.S. flight arrivals.

Upon arrival, there will be a person to greet you and guide you to your shuttle. He will have a Blue Spirit sign. When you arrive, you should allow 30 – 60 minutes to go through immigration, customs and baggage claim.

Once you have retrieved your luggage and passed customs, your shuttle organizer will be waiting outside the only terminal exit at LIR. The organizer will be wearing a Blue Spirit T-shirt and will greet you with a sign that says BLUE SPIRIT.

The shuttle will depart when it is full, and all the arriving guests are in the shuttle – we don’t leave anyone behind – so you may need to wait a few minutes until everyone is in the shuttle.

The ride from Liberia Airport (LIR) to Blue Spirit is approximately 3 hours.

You can find additional shuttle information HERE.

Passport Information

US Citizens must present a passport with a validity of at least 6 months past your return date of January 17, 2026 to enter Costa Rica.  If you do not have a current passport or your passport will be expiring prior to July 17, 2026, we suggest applying as soon as possible as processing times are taking up to 3 months occasionally. Costa Rica requires you to carry your passport with you at all times. Some individuals prefer to make a copy to carry and leave their original passport in the safety box at Blue Spirit.

If you have a passport other than a U.S. Passport, it is your responsibility to verify what documentation you need to enter Costa Rica. If you fail to bring your required documentation, you may be denied boarding your plane or denied entry to Costa Rica.

What if I have mobility concerns?
