Laureen Talenti, RN-BC, MS
Patient Safety Officer
Laureen Talenti, RN-BC, MS, has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She is the patient safety officer for a 375-bed hospital in southeastern Pennsylvania. In that position, Laureen is responsible for the investigation, analysis, and reporting of adverse healthcare events that occur in her hospital setting. She is a member of the Medication Safety Committee and Falls Taskforce which focus on the reduction of incidents in those areas. In addition, she is responsible for education to the healthcare team on safety strategies, event reporting and documentation. Previously, she practiced in the setting of adult critical care with a focus on care of cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, general surgery and trauma patients. A request to speak in her hospital’s critical care course, eventually led her into teaching roles as a staff development instructor and clinical education specialist. Laureen has lectured both regionally and nationally on a variety of topics. She is certified in both Critical Care Nursing and in Nursing Professional Development.
