Nancy Potter, PhD, CCC-SLP
Nancy Potter, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an associate professor of Speech & Hearing Sciences at Washington State University and a speech-language pathologist with 30+ years of experience in the public schools, hospitals, and private practice settings. Dr. Potter directs an active research program focusing on childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) and childhood dysarthria in rare genetic disorders.
Presently, she is investigating Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and dysarthria in children and adults with galactosemia, a rare disease with a 180 fold risk of CAS as compared to the general population.
She has given workshops for practicing speech-language pathologists and other healthcare professionals across the U.S. and Europe on assessment and treatment of CAS and is the co-founder of Camp Candoo, an intensive summer camp for children with severe motor speech disorders.
She will encourage you to consider continuing your education. Dr. Potter earned her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison at age 50!
