Neslihan Arici Ozcan, PhD
Associate Professor Neslihan Arici Özcan graduated from Bogaziçi University Guidance and Psychological Counseling Program with the 1st rank. She completed her master’s degree at Okan University Clinical Psychology program in 2009 with the project subject of "Cognitive and Metacognitive Structures and Processes in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder”. In 2014, she received her doctorate (PhD) from Sakarya University's Psychological Counseling and Guidance program with the subject of "Traumatic Grief and Family Resilience". She worked as a clinical psychologist at Medipol Hospital between 2006-2015 in Istanbul. She worked as a short-time lecturer at various universities between 2009 and 2015. She worked as an assistant professor at Istanbul Medipol University Psychology and Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department between 2015-2017. She has been working as assistant professor at Istanbul Medeniyet University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Social work since May 2017, with Associate Professor status on May 2021.
Dr. Neslihan Arici Özcan has studied academically and clinically post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and personality disorders in line with her Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, EMDR, Experiential Systemic Family Therapy, Somatic Experience and Integral Somatic Approach and supervisions. She gives seminars, supervision and group work to various institutions and organizations on methods of coping with difficult individuals, methods of dealing with difficult lives and resilience, effective communication within the family, stress and conflict management at work, and coping with exam anxiety in students.
