Nicolle Ionascu, Psy.D., QME


Nicolle Ionascu, Psy.D., Q.M.E., is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in neurocognitive disorders. After completing her undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Ionascu earned her doctorate at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital, she began her career at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco. She then brought her knowledge to Presbyterian Hospital’s Rehabilitation Center and Carolina Center for Development and Rehabilitation located in Charlotte, North Carolina, working as a clinical neuropsychologist. During that time Dr. Ionascu was also an active faculty member at Queen’s University of Charlotte.

In current clinical practice, Dr. Ionascu’s main focus is helping patients with severe mental illness, learning disorders, developmental delay, neurocognitive disorders, and post concussive syndrome by using neuropsychological evaluation and treatment. Another focus of Dr. Ionascu’s is working with children referred for both pre-surgical and post-surgical assessments at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California, through the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, while also partaking in research studies at this facility.
